Building a Bribery-Free Culture Practice at KFTD

PT Kimia Farma Trading & Distribution (KFTD) is an Indonesian state-owned pharmaceutical company. The company is committed to ethical business practices and has a zero-tolerance policy for bribery and corruption.ย

KFTD has implemented several measures to build a bribery-free culture, including developing a code of conduct, training employees, and establishing a reporting mechanism.

Code of Conduct

KFTD has a comprehensive code of conduct outlining the company’s ethical behavior expectations and to avoid Legal Issue that potentially occur in KFTD. The code prohibits bribery and corruption in all forms and provides guidance on how to avoid conflicts of interest. All employees are required to read and understand the code of conduct and are expected to comply with it at all times.

Training

KFTD provides regular training to employees on bribery and corruption. The training covers the company’s policies and procedures, as well as the risks of bribery and corruption. Employees are also trained to identify and report potential bribery and corruption.

Reporting Mechanism

KFTD has a confidential reporting mechanism that allows employees to report suspected bribery and corruption. The reporting mechanism is anonymous, and employees are protected from retaliation if they make a report in good faith.

Sistem Manajemen Anti Penyuapan (SMAP)

In addition to the measures that KFTD has already implemented, there are many other things the company can do to build a bribery-free culture further. Such as Sistem Manajemen Anti Penyuapan (SMAP) that include:

  • Promoting a culture of speak-up by encouraging employees to report any concerns about bribery and corruption
  • Providing support to employees who report bribery and corruption
  • Taking disciplinary action against employees who are found to have engaged in bribery and corruption
  • Making anti-bribery and corruption training a mandatory part of the onboarding process for new employees
  • Incorporating anti-bribery and corruption clauses into contracts with business partners
  • Regularly communicating the company’s anti-bribery and corruption policy to employees
  • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential bribery and corruption risks
  • Implementing a system of internal controls to mitigate bribery and corruption risks
  • Conducting due diligence on business partners to ensure that they are not involved in bribery and corruption
  • Monitoring and auditing the company’s anti-bribery and corruption program

By taking these steps, KFTD can further strengthen its commitment to ethical business practices and create a truly bribery-free culture.
